When Karin and her husband, Phil, were building their dream home they wanted a motto that described the philosophy they live by and strive to instill in their four children. They found the saying, velis et remis, which means “with sails and oars”, but translates as an old Latin proverb to “full speed ahead.” These words are etched on their mantle as a constant reminder to always enjoy life to its fullest and make every moment count.

A St. Paul native, Karin takes great pride in being a part of the St. Croix River Valley community. While the small-town charm of the quaint neighborhoods and rugged natural beauty of the river valley paint a picture of a peaceful setting, Karin sees a place with opportunities around every corner. She feeds off the boundless spirit of the area every day whether pursuing her personal goals or working her hardest to help others succeed.
Family time for the Housleys is usually spent outdoors, whether its swimming at home or taking advantage of the area’s recreational opportunities and seasonal activities. Karin and her husband Phil, have four children, Taylor, Reide, Wilson and Avery.

When she worked as a producer in the television news department for network affiliates in New York, Karin thrived in the fast-paced environment and was a success because of her strong business sense, creative writing flair and ability to manage people and work as a team. This dedication eventually led her to becoming a published author. It’s for this reason that a career in real estate is such a perfect match. As a real estate professional, she can spend her days outdoors working one on one with people in the community and connecting with others who share her strong passion for the area.
